Launch of a new Blog

Gotta love OpenACS - I decided to start a new blog to keep my development related posts seperate - and it took me, oh, 45 seconds!

This blog will be where I post "development related" blog entries so that they are easier to find and don't clog up the home page since most people really won't care that I created a new /opt tree on my laptop...

Oh - and so for those of you tracking my blog with RSS, this blog has it's own RSS feed (linked on the right).

Cool Blogs

I just visited this page from the openacs.org forums discussing anonymous posting and I just wanted to test it out. I am currently finding a way to post MMS messages to a weblog using a cell phone. I have downloaded the Openacs 5.0 and the weblogger. Seems that your site is using OACS 5.0 and the weblogger too but I did not notice any code in there to allow pictures. Cool site.....

Dear Unregistered visitor

Of course this is a great example why registering is a good idea - I could email you with some information if I knew who you were!

I need to update the About section of this webiste, but FYI this site is ased on OpenACS 4.6. I have hacked a few non-standard lars-* packages and you can find the diffs in the about section. I have also lightly hacked lars-blogger, but I don't seem to have the diffs for that there which I will post when I get a chance. In fact what I should do is give read access to a web interface on my CVS server's public folder... The hacks allow me to email a blog entry and photo from my 3g phone that gets automatically posted to my blog.
