I have to say I'm not excited about most of them. For instance, how will F1 maintain it's position as the most technically advanced racing format when things like variable valve timing are banned. My 5 year old Honda has variable valve timing!!

Reduce the wing and limit tyres sure...

but don't stop engine research!
It's as if they think we want motor racing to be slower.
Reducing wing would have to be a good thing given the amount of racing we had at Hockenheim a few years ago (they fixed that by altering the track) when the long straights meant that most of the cars could not afford the drag of a big downforce wing and there was overtaking under brakes.

Agreed, Agreed

Not only is about the racing though, it's about F1 as THE premier racing format. If I wanted to watch affordable cars wallowing around a mediocre race circuit, I would watch the Konicka V8 supercar series...
