This is version 0.5b, the first version to include the promised buddy status list, after a few attempts.
Additionally, if you select one of your online buddies listed in the menu, Skype will open an Instant Message (IM) chat window for chatting with that buddy.
The only feature to be added to bring SkypeMenuX to where I want it to be is:
- preference to set whether a buddy selection from the menu launches an IM or Voice chat
- use of option modifier key to reverse that preference

maybe no key modifier
Maybe its better to have 2 items instead of a keymodifier, the first: "call budie", the second "chat with buddie". Which one is "selected" is visible by a "v" in front of the item, if you know what i mean. I think that is the most straightforward methode.

Not a bad idea
I will try to come up with a good way to make it simpler to choose between voice or text chat than a modifier key.

online buddies only displayed if available
Thanks for manifesting a great idea. I like the options for voice or text chat as in .6b. my buddies and I have organically developed a system of contact etiquette which involves :away, and :not available, as well as :available, statuses. At present my skype menu only shows those who are available so I have to rely on skype to tell me of the others thus rendering skype menu much less useful. They are windows users and so quite difficult to educate. If I am serious about not being contacted I go invisible. Please give me the option to display all my buddies who are online even if they are posing as away. Rob B
